Empty help · Paint

Paint.Inside the same pretend PC.

Paint is one of the places where Empty’s desktop becomes more than a frame around the shops. Make a drawing, save it in the pretend filesystem or turn it into the wallpaper behind your shopping windows.

Open Paint in Empty

Free to use in your browser. The PC needs JavaScript; this guide does not.

Start with a small drawing

Choose a drawing tool and colour, then make a few marks on the canvas. The app keeps its own drawing state and Undo history. Inspect what is already open before starting a new document so you do not unintentionally replace a drawing you wanted to keep.

Save it somewhere on the pretend PC

Use the save controls to give the drawing a name in Empty’s filesystem. A saved drawing can be found again through File Explorer. Pay attention to any save or storage error; an unsaved canvas and a saved file are different states.

Let the drawing appear elsewhere

Use the wallpaper action to put your drawing behind the desktop windows, or export a PNG when you want an image outside the pretend PC. The wallpaper connection is an easy way to see one app change the wider desktop world.

Before you leave the desktop

Your local PC is saved in this browser on this device. Clearing this site’s data or using Reset in Settings removes that progress. Read about privacy and the parody.
